So maybe it's because we are total homebodies or because with three young people to look after sometimes mama is not available to PAPIER MACHE RIGHT NOW!! but there has been alot of moments of wandering aimlessly and alot of boredom resulting in sibling smackdowns.
After reading over on http://http//kezs-blog.blogspot.com/ (sorry if this doesn't work Kez, first time linker) about her journey into unit studies with her son I thought it would be a perfect way to fill the gap we were experiencing.
We all sat around and brainstormed things we would like to learn more about and then I translated it into edu-speak in preparation for our registration journey (eeek!).
First up has been Australian Animals
Some of the highlights have been...
*Wombat Stew play @ Civic Theatre
*Possum Magic feast with Steak and Salad, Pumpkin Scones and Vegemite Sandwiches for the first course and Pavlova, Lamingtons and Anzac Biscuits for Dessert.
*Using a Tally system to keep track of the birds spotted on our lake adventure and then tackling the big bad spreadsheet monster and making graphs.
*Reading great Australian poems and having fun writing our own on our new giant chalkboard wall
*Bringing all three learners together, in the same space doing the same activity and everybody smiling
This weekend we are heading off to Sydney Wildlife World to share our day of learning with the papa :)

Very cool! Feel free to come raid my book cases too if you like. Heaps of reproducible s etc and we have some nice books too :-)
The reason your link does not work is that you have two sets of http, there should only be one. That happens when you copy and paste the link as it pops up with http:// when you click the link app. You just need to back space over the first one.
If you want it to look pretty too, just type a heading, eg. KEZ's BLOG, highlight it and then click the link app. It hides the link address which is useful if you are linking to a particular page as they can be quite long address's.
Love it! I like your chalkboard wall ad book hanging display. It's great that everyone's inspired and involved, that's a win. Enjoy the weekend away!
YAY! Sometimes you need that kickstart! Australian animals are always fun :) Enjoy Wildlife world.
We read Dot and the Kangaroo. My CK loved it. I love the idea of writing down the birds, I want to do something similar, but Ck wont have it!
