Sounds like Science at our place

Yesterday was HOT!! We stayed inside and did alot of science from "501 science experiments", a brilliant find from way back. We talked about density, surface tension and even had a mini lesson on Newton's laws...then Mama decided she needed coffee-stat!!

We all got busy this morning while the weather hung undecided between raining and stinking hot. Papa mowed the back jungle while I vaccumed and mopped with Elijah Bear on my back and my ipod up loud (I have discovered this is my serenity-the noise of the vaccuum and the ipod can drown out even the loudest LEGO squabble), the boys came out to see what we were up to so I set them to work sweeping the paths...suddenly they were soooooo tired but managed to muster up the energy after I explained I would be too tired to take them out if I had to do all the jobs---it wasn't bribery, I swear!!

Papa took us to go and look at a TV for our bedroom. I know TV in the bedroom is a total taboo in some households but for us who like to be in bed early-one of us with a booby monster, it just works.
We found a nice size LCD that we can wall mount and I found some great educational CD-ROMS on the sale table; I-spy Treasure Hunt and a HSIE one with lots of Australian history and a 2009 World Atlas--that will get alot of use I'm sure!

Linkin and I finished decorating the cupcakes we made together this morning. It was lovely to have a quiet moment together--just us two, while Eli slept and the others were off busy together.
Now the boys and Papa are relaxing with some Initial D cartoons and I'm going to sneak off for a bubble bath with my wee one while he's still young enough to choose mama over cars!!

Sounds like a nice day - we have that experiments book as well. I am so over this humidity!

We have the same book, it's fun to flick open and try something.

Bubble bath at the end of the day, that sounds nice! I remember doing that with my babies ... now we don't all fit so well! I like to read in the bath, when I get a rare chance.

Thank goodness the humidity has eased a little...It's a squash but we can still get 3 boys and a mama in the tub--although I did get stuck when I was pregnant once ;)
