Belated Birthday Boys

T
wo older, wiser and if possible even more
lovable boys celebrating their day(s).
Linkin went with the Mr Tickle Cake (lovingly made by the mumma) but we outsourced the love (and baking) for Akira's cake and he had a Ben 10 mudcake made by the bakery where these two boys are well known and loved, so we can be assured a little bit of love got stirred into that chocolatey goodness.

We are winding up our first full year of homeschooling and planning a little celebration as our "Professor" graduates Kinder; his only request has been some Chinese takeaway....so that keeps things low key.

I am quietly congratulating myself on trusting my instinct and persevering through the doubtful days and singing the praises (a little louder) of the marvellous work and progress Akira has made this year; not to mention the things he has taught Linkin.

It is wonderful to see a genuine love of learning in my children even after a year of solid work. There is not a day that goes by where a learning opportunity is not devoured by these little souls.

We have made some preparations for our new family member; reading great books loaned to us by our midwife and building our birthing nest. The babe is growing and stretching and filling us all with wonder.

On a lighter note, I will leave you with this amazing display of fauna in our very own backyard. There were seriously 20something cockatoos who were very
curious about us and our bread supply. Oh, and we found some other "wildlife" inside.
