climbing mountains

Small triumphs in the eyes of big people but mountains have been scaled here in the last month.

Let's start with Linkin just to make him feel first for once!! He has bravely ventured into trampoline-land and now refuses to leave; unfortunately his exuberant bouncing also gave him an ouchy of a bee sting in between the big toe and next one delivered by an kamikaze bee. Fortunately he has also chosen to begin communiacting more this month so was able to clue me in on the source of the sadness. YouTube and Hotwheels.com are now his favourite hang out spots and he is usually found there promptly by 6.30am guzzling his warm milk and munching on "racing" toast (raisin toast to those not clued in).

Akira-AKA Vert as he is currently known has spent approxiamately 80% of the last month either naked or in costume and yet still manages to produce 4 changes of clothes in his basket evryday.

He has been devouring books about the coral reef at an alarming rate and enthralls strangers (well they pretend to be enthralled) with facts about the deep ocean. He continues to be excited by Maths and has even progressed to some first grade level addition/subtraction (So HA!! to those of little faith) and is blending sounds well both verbally and whilst writing.

An added benefit of this month has been that we now have our very own in-home parrot, just in-case I didn't catch what Akira said the first time Linkin is now on a 3-second delay.

Akira has voluntarily had some dry nights but we both are a little apprehensive about throwing away the night pants....getting up in the night just seems WRONG now!!

Easter was full of chocolatey goodness which amazingly rolled on for two weeks despite the strict cocoa budget. This was great for answering life's great question "what's for dessert Mum?" but not so great for a certain cocoa-addicted female residing here.

I had a nice birthday, and am now the proud owner of another 40kgs---of weight plates not belly! and a humungous chcolate champagne bottle wth truffles inside so give me a few weeks and I will have a start on that belly.

Dad is still toiling away at work but finally getting some quality sleep so is a much less grumpy/dozy dwarf and is maybe even slowly evolving into a happy dwarf.

We are hoping, planning and conspiring to come and see everyone on the coast soon, until then hugs and kisses from the Monkey Magic Team
