Christmas fun and getting back to work

Well we managed to have a very relaxing Christmas; apart from the physical exertion of copious games on the Playstation Eye Toy and jumping on the trampoline.

It was still special but not stressy which was exactly what I was aiming for. We snuggled around in our trackies due to the cold weather and enjoyed simple "safe" food with the kids.

The kids ate our early Christmas dinner aboard the Polar Express Train. An exquisite meal of Homemade Chicken Nuggets, X-mas tree Swedes, Chips and a crunchy noodle salad with Magic cordial on the side (mum and dad had a Corona with lime!)

Santa thought our decorations were so great he brought us some snow direct from the North Pole which Linkin slipped in about the first five minutes of being awake!

Yesterday we got back to work, easing back into more structured mornings of "formal" learning to leave the afternoon free for fun natural learning and outings and trampoline jumping!

Akira chose to copy out some names of Dinosaurs out of his fact book, matching up the figure to the picture to identify the species and copying out the proper name into his handwriting book.

We also decided on the topic of our first unit study which will be Weather, so today we are constructing a home made thermometer.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone! We celebrated with glow sticks for the kids and a Corona for mum and dad :)
