Walkabout in W.A

In just under three weeks we'll be in our new place (or perhaps temorary housing) in the ever sunny soils of Port Hedland.

It's going to be the biggest adventure of our lives - Papa, Eli and I are the only ones so far who have visited the site. The other two boys are in for big changes!!

Apparently it's the ugliest town in Australia. I'd have to say I find most of the clone home villages and cluttered suburbia far uglier than Port Hedland.

It gets hot. Really hot. But there's pools and ample air con and awesome (croc free) swimming holes in nearby national parks.

There is great community there. People connect with other people because of the isolation and everything is a short walk away.

Papa will be at home more than he has ever been. Eli is going to LOVE it. The other boys and I will love it too of course but Eli and the papa have a special connection.

We'll be setting ourselves up for a better future and hopefully becoming a stronger, healthier family in the process.

We'll be back in NSW in September for our wedding in Sydney. Maybe even with a tan....

How exciting it will be to live in a new place, and explore the surrounding areas. The community sounds quite welcoming. I hope you'll continue to write, and share parts of the experience with us!
